How Can I root my Samsung SM-J260A

why do you want to root the device? i see no need for it mainly because there is not much of a community for your specific phone. first off there is no community specifically for your phone which means that there is no developers. no developers=no fun. secondly, your phone does not even have a custom recovery. a custom recovery is an essential tool for root users. for me personally, i would never root a device unless i know that there is a custom recovery that i can flash to after root.

a custom recovery can do many things. the main two functions are 1)making a nandroid backup and 2)flashing custom roms. there are more things it can do, but those are the top two functions.

1)making a nandroid backup is the key. if you plan on rooting so that you can delete the bloatware or some other function, you best make sure make a nandroid backup. what is it, you ask? a nandroid backup is a complete backup of your phone. it is kind of like a save point in a game. if you deleted the wrong thing, it could make your phone nonfunctional. all you would have to do then is boot into the custom recovery and restore the nandroid backup, you hopefully made prior to deleting things.

and 2)flashing custom roms. if your phone has a good community then you should have a decent amount of choices of custom roms. these are android os that is custom made according to the developer. some roms have cool optimizations to make the phone run better or have a longer battery life. some are bare bones android like Lineage OS. with no bloatware.

so i always do my research over at xda like the link that @Dannydet linked to earlier. check to see if there is a community, look for root guides, custom recoveries like TWRP, and see how many custom roms are available.

like i said no devs=no fun
