Help How can I use my GPS on my TF700T on the road?

My TF700T has a GPS. However, I haven't found it useful unless I am connected via WiFi.
What I expected it to be useful for is for getting directions and guidance when I am in my automobile.
However, with only the GPS connection on, I cannot find any app that I have that would help me in driving navigation.

I would very much appreciate it if someone could enlighten me on how I can use my TF700T'S GPS feature to help give it the kind of basic functionality that the "conventional" GPS that I purchased for my auto years ago can do.

Thank you in advance for sharing your time and expertise.

You might try offline navigation apps.
These apps need WiFi only for to download their maps on the device, but they don't need a data connection (mobile or WiFi) for navigation, GPS is enough :)

You'd try it with free apps like Navfree or OsmAnd.
Better for car navigation are the paid apps Navigon or CoPilot.

Thank you for quick reply.
I just found out about Copilot and was looking at their Web Site.
I also saw a paid app called Sygic that seems similar.

Would you or anyone else have some first hand experience with these Apps and could share their experience with them?

Thank you.

At present I use Navigon, years ago I'd used CoPilot, both are good navigation apps.
I've heard good things about Sygic, and it has the advantage of a trial period.

I have both Sygic and Copilot. I first bought Sygic about 4 years ago and have stuck with it ever since for all of Europe (I live in the UK). And every time they bring out an update I have downloaded it free of charge, as well as getting free map updates. Overall I like the app and the company's upgrade policies much better than Copilot.

A year or so after I bought Sygic I needed American maps (my daughter now lives in New Jersey), but Sygic's were very expensive when compared with Copilot (they are about the same price now). So I bought Copilot for the USA and use it when I am over there. It works OK, but I prefer Sygic's interface. And when Copilot upgrade their software you do not get a free upgrade - you have to pay the same as anybody else. So they don't reward loyalty. And it is ages since their maps have been updated too.

So my advice would be to go for Sygic.
