Well got my rom on emmc cyanogenmod 7 and well I have about 1 gb storage for programs now I also got this internal emmc partition of 5gb that is sitting there absoluty useless I rather have that availible to install programs is there anyway to make my nook actually use this in a useful way? Like repartition it so it's actually part of the storage space for programs?

Thanks
just to make sure, while I might lose data it is impossible to brick it completely because I can reboot from a flash card right? Also curious I've done cm7 for so long now and honestly it's kinda boring now what you running these days?

It's not impossible to brick a NC, but as long as you can boot off the card slot, it's unlikely. (There is no fix for a device that is truly bricked, unless you can send it in to the mfgr.) What is possible is that you can create a situation that you (and I) wouldn't know how to resolve. :D

I gave away my NC years ago. It's waaaay too slow for my tastes. (Not enough cpu and ram.) Check out my devices on the left. All 3 are running a Jelly Bean rom (CM10 or a variant). From what I've seen, the NC can barely run CM7, and CM9 or CM10 is just waaaay too slow.

These days you can buy a cheap tablet so there's no need to convert a reader to one. My recommendation is to buy a Nexus tablet (although my HP Touchpad with CM10 is nice too).

If you have the money, Colchiro is right. Just get a new tablet.

Otherwise, since your NC is already rooted, I would recommend Paranoid Android 2.99 (JellyBean 4.1.2) as it is pretty decent (not perfect, but decent). Way better than CM 7.

any good install guide on paranoid android?
honestly I like the nook color because all I do is read kindle books play words with friends and well check my e-mail at times, worst comes to worst and I'm bored I'll play a little brick or jewel or bubble game.
and it runs office and well I have not tried yet but I might just attach a bluetooth keyboard one of these days for some mild typing on the go.
have one laying around somewhere.
