Help How come I get old text pics when trying to open new ones?

Ok... needing some help! I have had my phone for over a year and now getting old text pics come up when clicking on a new text pic sent to me. Is there a way to delete the old ones? I have looked everywhere on my phone and the old ones are not found anywhere.... Any thoughts how to correct this?

delete the old threads where the old pictures might be? sounds like an SQL database issue
