How comfortable is the Gnote 2 in one hand ?

Hi,
I'm getting a new phone very soon.I was going to get the galaxy s3 but then I found out that phones with 2GB RAM are starting to show up like the optimus G,padfone 2,upcoming lg nexus and even the european LTE version of the GS3.I keep my phones for a long time(2 or 3 years) so I don't wanna feel that my phone is too outdated quickly...The Gnote 2 is starting to grow on me,not just because of the RAM but for the screen,s pen,split-screen etc.I just got one concern:how does it feel in your hand ? Does it feel like it's going to slip off your hand because of its size ? What about using it when walking ? My hands are not small but they are not huge either.My thumb can at least touch the 4 corners of the GS3's screen...

I'm certainly aware of this.What I'm talking about is the overall feel of the device in the hand,I probably won't need to reach the top corners of the screen when I have to use the device with one hand unless if I need to pull down notifications which can be overcame with a gesture in custom launchers.Maybe doing some basic stuff like using the dailer,opening an app,scrolling through the homepages etc
 
Feels great in one hand when just holding it. Extremely awkward texting with one hand without the one hand feature which i admitedly havent tried yet. Hands are on the smaller side of medium though, unless you have huge hands it is not gonna be a device where you will want to be using it one handed for long periods of time.
Great device though and perfect two handed.

My hands aren't big, but not necessarily "small," but I can almost wrap my fingers around this, which I was not able to do with the Note 1.

The reviews about the size not being that different are AWFUL. There's a huge difference in comfortability holding and width, even though the dimensions look like a very small change.

That's exactly what I wanted to know/see,your hand's size is very close to mine's.I think mine is actually a little bit bigger,thanks for the info !

I don't see myself using my phone with one hand for texting,even on my relatively small desire I still prefer to do it two-handed in landscape.I mostly use portrait when I want to type something quick in the browser.Thanks for your entry !
 
While it is not that bad, if you need to pull the notification bar down or tap on the Google search bar on top of the screen, you'll definitely have to "maneuvre" it in your hand. One thing for sure, it won't be just lying idle in your hand. No problems with the dialer though.
Subconsciously, while using it I did not notice any discomfort, until I read your post and started thinking about it;)
 
I've posted about one-handability in other threads, but let me just say here: the Note 2 is significantly more one-handable than the Note 1. I have small hands, by the way. Apps like Button Savior, Virtual Button Bar, and Swipe Pad go a long way toward making the Note 2 (and my S3) quite nicely one-handable by enabling easy, one-hand app switching and back button (for left-hand users).
 
I think it'll be possible for 1 handed use. Maybe more carefully than other phones, but I feel it'll be possible.
 
I remember folks saying the S3 was too big for 1 hand use when it first came out:rolleyes:. My hands smother this thing, so I'm not too worried about the Note 2 being to big. My only concern regarding the size of the Note 2 is it fitting comfortably in pants pockets. But when it's all said & done it's not going to keep me from getting it.

Hi Dorrien12

It does not actually cover the glass but it does clip over the edge and because the edging protrudes some 1 - 1.5 mm it gives some clearance to the glass. If the phone were to fall face down on a flat, smooth surface it is only the 1mm+ rubber and gap that might save the glass from the impact. I got it from Amazon at 99p, it is now 95p!


However, since the strap does gives a more comfortable and safer grip it is less likely to fall.

I work on the principle that Nature has provided me with 2 hands for a reason - one hand to hold an object, and another hand to manipulate it.Samsung have improved on Nature by giving me an S-Pen.
I never text with one hand and wouldn't do so even if the phone was half the size.
The size itself is vastly overhyped. I have average sized hands and although the SGN2 seems very large "out of the box" you quickly get used to it in the same way you do with, say, a large TV set.
 
After just leaving a T-Mobile store all my concerns of this device being too big are over. It fits great in my hands & they even let me put it in my pocket to see if it would be an issue as well. No problem. I could see it not being an everyday device for those w/ smaller hands though.

My hands are on the smaller side (between medium and small) and in the short few seconds that I held it at a Samsung booth nearby (LA, CA), all my doubts were squashed.
