How do i back up my apps

Hello Droidonians, I have just switched from an iPhone 3GS to a BEAUTIFUL SAMSUNG SII Gingerbread OS. I completely love my phone and love Android. My only wish is to have an iTunes equivalent for us Android users. I do use SAMSUNGS sync software Kies but i dont think it back up my apps. Could i get someone to help me on this please.

Cheers.

No Problem, in the Android Market there is a App called App Monster. Here is the link to the free version.

I use the pay version, but the free version does what you want. The pay version can move some apps off the phone and store them to your SD card to free up the native storage space on your phone.
Also if you need to back up your contacts try GO Contacts also a free app. These are the two apps I use and they work well.
Good luck.

Great help. Thanks a million. I do wish however for Google to come up with an easy all in one sync system like iTunes. But thats all. I wish nothing else to be like Apple thanks :)

Or Titanium Backup, it backs up everything to the sd card, or if you use the pro version also to the cloud. You can choose what to restore and do a batch backup or batch restore, convert apps to system apps or to user apps (which allows you to remove bloatware for example from your phone etc). But you have to be rooted to use it.

If you're simply looking to backup apps,...then checkout an app called "OnTheFly Backup". I use it and am quite pleased with it...and it does not require rooting your device. It's simply an app that works well, is easy to use, is free, and does what it says. Be careful and make sure you get the correct app by using the full name...since it seems that there is another app called "On the Fly" that uses a similar name. The one you want is 'OnTheFly Backup".
I like it, and I hope it meets your needs.

Just a reminder, without root, these apps would only back up apk and market links, but not your progress. Don't be surprised if you have to start back from stage one on certain games. Other games on the other hand save your progress online so those will be safe.

I needed this thread yesterday! Now that I have all my apps back after a reset, I'm prepared after reading these posts..

Just be aware that if you are not rooted, no backup app will backup your app's data. For example, if you back and restore Angry Birds, you will have to start over from scratch.

Also, I do not believe any backup apps can backup the "Market Link" unless you are rooted. So if you restore an app, it will not show up in the "My Apps" section of the Market, meaning you will not get updates to the apps.
