Help How do I change keyboards?

I have swype installed on my phone, but when i press and hold on the text field (what ive read here to switch keyboards) the only thing that comes up is 'insert quick text'

I tried switching it in settings > language & keyboard but nothing worked in there either.

I have searched but nothing i found was of any use

i would but the beta's closed apparently for swype. I had it, installed it, but couldn't find it and now when i went back to the website to reinstall (after deleting all things swype), i was unable to

Make sure that in "Settings"---->"Keyboards", that "Swype" is checked.

I believe if you just read the thread you would see that this person already tried to do that.

Contact Swype about your situation. I would bet they will help you out.

did yo ever resolve this? I have the exact same issue. I've tried with both ThickKeyboard and the Droid-X Multitouch keyboard and neither one works.
