How do I clear in phone contacts?

S3 . Verizon. I somehow ended up with contacts in the phone's contact book as well as Gmail. I have Gmail backed up. How do I wipe the in phone address book without wiping Gmail?

I used an app called Contact Remover - free from the Play Store.

A factory reset would also do it though you would lose everything else, too.

Another way is to logout from gmail on phone, and then you should see only one copy of contacts. If you want to use gmail sync, you can wipe out all the contact, and then setup gmail sync again. This way, you will have one copy of contacts.
