Help How do I clear up device storage?

I love this new phone but this is easily the most annoying thing about it.

I have a 64GB memory card in here, which naturally has TONS of open space on it. But for some reason the phone still INSISTS on storing tons of stuff in its internal data. So now the tiny internal storage is so full that my phone wont allow me download any emails.

The problem is, every tangible thing that I could move or delete from the internal storage I already have: all pictures and videos, all notes, all music, all apps that would let me move them, every ACTUAL thing you could think of. Even deleted all my unneeded emails on the off chance the phone was storing them internally. the only thing left is 50% the apps that dont want to be moved to the sd card, and then 50% "Miscellaneous data". and I see alot of files with names like ".profig.os" and stuff that seems like I shouldnt just go deleting it willy nilly.

So is there some other way I can free up data? Like what files of miscellaneous isnt important?

I just want to be able to read my emails.

You don't mention what Email app you are using.

I am using Aqua Mail, and have done nothing special to either my S5 or my Note 4...

no issues with either of them
I have two accounts on it, one is a Yahoo account with over a 100 folders in it.
the other is my primary Gmail account.

works fine with both of them, has a 'Smart Inbox' that reads from both accounts...
and again, never a problem.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums faroresdragn :):)

If you are on the latest stock Samsung firmware for the international model, G900F, you can use the new Samsung Smart Manager app that comes bundled with it to clear out your storage. Alternatively, ( and this is where I will come in for some flak off of my colleagues on here), you can install, free from the Play Store, Clean Master (Boost & AppLock) and use ONLY the Junk file storage feature... after which I recommend you uninstall the app as it is very invasive.

Also, you can go to....

Settings > Application manager > All (scroll across) > Download Manager... clear the cache and data.
