How do I close Tune-In?

Just played Tune-In on headphones - great app

but after i closed it i notice 'Beats App' showing in the notifications

How do I close Tune-In & how do I know its closed?

The only way i could get rid of the Beats Audio notification (and prolly close Tune in) was to start my media player and stop it

It should close if you use the "Exit" option from the menu. Do that rather than use the back button on your phone when you want to get out of TuneIn.
What Android version do you have? If it's pre-Gingerbread you can go to Settings/Applications/Manage and force stop it from there (which is a bit of a pain), if it's GB or later you should have the App Manager that lets you see immediately what apps are running and close them.
