How Do I disable / remove default messenger to use handscent instead?

Can Anyone tell me how to disable / remove default messenger on my spectrum so i can use handcent , i figured out how to stop getting to notifactions but still get double messeges? & any ideas on keyboards I have swiftkey 3 , dont like it???? Thank You!!!

Install my ROM it doesn't have the default it only has hand cent or root unlock boot loader then remove it from system apps

You can't. If you remove messaging app, you won't be able to send mms and possibly sms, because of how android is designed. Just hide the app,disable the notification in it and move on with your life.
