How do I disable the "mobile data: data charges may apply" pop up?

Lurker
I just updated my software (Android 7.1.1, LG Q6) and everytime I turn mobile data on/off from the notification center I get these annoying popups. Any idea how to disable them? They're driving me crazy. I've tried "limiting" my data to 1000gb thinking it's gonna go away but it didn't help.

..I think those are standard & built-in (hard coded) to the Settings. You'd probably have to do one or multiple things listed below:
  1. Find, install, & Run a custom ROM, then toggle the switch for one-tap selection on the Data QS tile like the image below.
  2. Build a custom ROM with said inclusions or decode that notification outta the system.
  3. Hack the Settings.apk to the way ya want it...
Hope that helps

Yeah I've no clue what you mean, been using Android for less than a month. Hack the settings.apk?

Hmm, have the G6 and when I toggle mobile data on and off I get a warning that AT&T video calling won't work over wifi, but when I turn it back on there's a breif pop-up that says "data connection allowed". Maybe it's a carrier thing. Who's you phone carrier?

Telekom, I live in EU. But it's 100% a software thing, before updating to 7.1.1 I would never get this.

Unfortunately if it's a branded handset an update goes through both LG and the carrier, and you can't tell whether a change was LG or the carrier's doing except by seeing what other versions have it.

Not that it matters who put it there - either there's an option to remove it or there isn't. I have a different device (or a later android version) and have never seen the warning about charges when turning on (confirmation request when turning off, yes), so can't help with that.

You are not using data roaming are you? Or a pee-paid plan? Those are the cases where a warning would make most sense to me.

Or a pee-paid plan?
I had one of those once, but i got piss-poor reception. ;)

@katja88 is there a reason why you want to toggle off mobile data? You can restrict mobile data without turning it off completely, and it should not be used while you are connected to WiFi even though it may be on.

Try going into your device update settings it should say update over WiFi only or data and WiFi. Tick updated over WiFi only, that should disable that pop up.

Hello,

Any update on this? I just got the update and it is annoying as hell... anyone who could turn this popup/notification off?
Unfortunately the updated over WiFi only doesn't work, still getting the popup.
