When I synced my google calendar/imported the outlook calendar, the 'recurring' appts when individually and so I need to start all over again! UGH. I tried to remove my gmail acct and it said that I have to do a factory reset. So, how do I do this. I am so frustrated. I am a busy/working mom and my calendar keeps me up todate on appointments.

Go to Settings--> Privacy and there should be a factory reset there.
If you haven't done this already, do you really need to do a full factory reset? I think that even with a factory rest, you will still have this issue because your appointments will be backed up on Google Calendars.
I suggest going to https://www.google.com/calendar/ and creating a new calendar. You can then delete or just deactivate the current calendar and try importing your info again.
This will save you a lot of trouble in the long run.
