How do I download applications?

Ok well, I'm obviously new, and I'm wondering how to download applications onto my HTC Legend.

I had a HTC Legend before, which had the Flashlight App, but now I got a new one, and it doesen't have it. Basically I've just come here to get it onto my new HTC Legend.

I'm not to sure if this website has instructions on how to download app's, I've had a look around but haven't seen anything so far.

So if anyone could give me simple, straightforward instructions on how to download Applications onto my HTC Legend, it'd be much appreciated.

That's the App I want.

Cheers!

Just doing a bit of reading revealed that you will need to root your phone in order to get a flashlight app that will control the LED.

Rooting allows you to have full access over your phone (called root access). Normally, it is very easy to do, but you can turn your phone into a paperweight if you don't do some reading. Also understand the risks associated with gaining root access before you root your phone. I don't any personal experience with the HTC Legend, so my help ends with this general disclaimer. You should find all of the help/information you could need here: Legend - All Things Root - Android Forums

Download via the Market. Or download via other sources and side load. Does your device not have the Android Market app on it?
