Help How do I get back to GB?

taDROID

Newbie
RAZR MAXX running stock 4.04 not rooted.

I am having a HUGE issue that both MOTO, and Big-V has determined ICS to be the issue. I can't receive my work emails properly. I have gone through EVERYTHING. I have even gone to a store, and loaded my work email correctly on all GB phones, and the same issue arises when its on a ICS phone. It won't load the emails past July 4th.

To make a long story short.. I MUST get my work emails, and I would like to go back to GB where my phone worked GREAT!!!!

PLEASE HELP!

p.s. I am a frikken NOOB, so detailed instructions (very good details) would help me a TON!

Unfortunately there is no going back unless VZW were to exchange your phone for one with GB.

Have you tried changing your email settings to keep the mail longer than the default time?

Phone is already on order :)

When you say "keep the mail longer" what are you referring to? It's a pop-3 and it doesn't delete from the server.

Perhaps you can try another e-mail app?

Yes I have tried k-9, and I am having the same outcome.

I am having issues with getting my emails on ICS. Was there a change in the last few days?

Back Story - Between my Droid X, and my MAXX I had the Galaxy Nexus. I had to return the Nexus due to ICS having mail issues. I went into the verzon store when i had the Gnex, and I showed them me literally loading my email account on 5 different phones. It loaded on 4 of them. The 5th was the Gnex running ICS.

I am now having the same issues with ICS on my MAXX. I am running STOCK (never been rooted) ICS on my MAXX. I use the Stock mail app for my work email. It is a POP3 Account. I have deleted my accounts, and reloaded them. I have tried stock apps, and K9 app.

After I delete, and install it will load older emails as new as two days ago (and older) however it will not pick up the new ones. I have reported this last week during the SOAK, and a few days later it all of a sudden started working. However in the last 2 days it has started up again.

I have done the Cache reset, and that made the phone a little snappier, however I am still having the email issues.

NOTE: I loaded my email on my old Droid X... No issues... it's not my work server

Apologies, I misread the initial problem.

What about "Enhanced Email" or "Touchdown," do they work?

The best way would be to have your pop mail come right into your gmail mail account. You can have it all come into its own folder and when you reply it will reply from the addy as well, not your gmail addy. It is easy and it works, and it will keep a copy on pop server too.

Be careful you're not violating your Co's email policy doing this. My Co has a 90-day email retention policy that clearly states forwarding mail to outside services such as Yahoo or Gmail is strictly forbidden.

Not unless vzw replaces your phone. If you haven't done it yet, so a factory reset to your phone. It'll clear most of the performance problems.

The gmail client doesn't allow for Pinch-2-zoom for emails.... so this is NOT ideal, as I work with a ton of HTML.

At this point I will try anything as a temporary solution. Can you please give instructions on how to set this up, because when I went in to try you needed a @gmail.com address for this.

just create a new gmail account (it's free anyway) and then go to the "settings" where you can retrieve pop3 mail from your work server (need the username and password of the work server).

no you can't... (that I see) please try it... you will see that the "@gmail.com" is prepopulated, and un-editable
