Root how do i get back to stock?

lamashat

Newbie
can someone help me, I'm trying to unroot my spectrum and get it back to what it was like out of the box. thanks

If you run in to any trouble and don't understand the instructions, come back and ask. Maybe try to be as specific as possible too. I learned the hard way not to guess what something means if i have any doubts at all. Thats how you end up with a brick :)

I never backup. It's not necessary. If you have CWM installed then thats the easiest way to return to stock. I don't think I can be anymore specific than the directions for doing so already are. Just read them very carefully and you'll figure it out.

wait a minute...are you still on the stock rom? Or did you install a custom rom? If you are still on stock then you don't need to unroot. Having root is not going to stop you from getting the update.

As long has he just FROZE the bloatware and not removed, if he removed, he will need to flash back to stock.

I haven't done anything with custom toms but since I am rooted I would like to freeze the bloatware if someone could show me or something....otherwise I did no exploring with toms or anything

you will loose root after updating but it should be fine.

That's fine since I didn't do anything like play with the roms or anything cause I didn't wanna brick my phone I just want I c s nd now my cousin has jelly bean on his nexus and I wished it would come for spectrum too but that's probably too much to ask

if you have chance to read about installing cwm and roms it will be worth it as we will hopefully be having alot of choices here once we get ics. also we have devs who feel porting jb once we get ics should be workable.

I just read that LG officially released the build for the update to ICS to send for Verizon's approval and should be released to the OTA update "very soon"
Hopefully the "very soon" means before I got back to college at the end of August but I'm sure it will be like the first week of August...Fingers crossed!
