Help How do I get contacts to show only what I want

I recently asked a simple question but some Android fanboys got upset with me.

http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-note-2/721153-4-number-code-but-then-ok-why.html

Hopefully you understand that I am preaching Android but can also appreciate some things Apple.

In my contacts on my SGN2 there are things that show up that take up space on the screen that I do not want.
I have for example just created a new contact called "test contact" I have not put any information in for this contact, however the screen is full with
Connections
G
Groups
My Contacts
Ringtone
Default
Message Allert
Default
Vibration Pattern
Default

How can I hide these, or move them below other entry's I make such as address and notes.

Good natured banter and help and advise please.

I forget--is one of your conditions that it has to be with the default contacts manager or can you use a different app?

Hello whitecoller,
Well I suppose my only conditions are related to my competence. For example all the contacts were transferred after I had exported them (creating a google account etc) from my iPhone 4 in September 2012 in preparation to contract the SGN2. When my new phone was activated (October 2012 as part of their service) by my provider in their physical store the contacts all downloaded to the the new phone. I have therefore not even thought that there could be another contact app to use.
If there are free apps to use how simple are they to use and to enable me to switch phones and operating systems in the future.
Thanks
