How do I hide apps?

Hi everyone.

I was wondering if there is a way to hide apps on android. I've heard of "Hide It Pro" but that seems to be for media files only, although I could be mistaken. I have something similar on my old iPhone called "Poof!", if anybody is familiar with this, it is what I am looking to replicate.

I am using an unrooted 32 GB Nexus 7, currently with Apex Launcher.

If possible, I would prefer to not have to root, but if I have to, I would be willing to.

Also, I apologize if this is the wrong area, this looked right to me, but I could be wrong.

Your post is fine here, but we have an Android Applications section where you might get a bit more exposure. If you want this moved, let me know. :)

There's an app called Application Hider, by King Kong Lock, that might do what you're looking for. Alternatively, there are some parental control apps which might do it too, although they might be a little OTT for what you need.

Could you move it for me? Thanks. Also, Application Hider looks good, thanks for the recommendation. Do you have any recommendations for the parental control apps you mentioned?

Isn't there a hide apps option in Apex Launcher settings? I seem to remember there was one. Nova Launcher has it.
