Help How do I make this phone tether?

So, I've had this phone a while now, and it kinda aggravates me that I can't tether it. I used to have Virgin Mobile's Optimus V, and it tethered just fine. Do I need to install a custom ROM, or do anything special to make it tether? Also, since Virgin Mobile now supports 4G, and sells current Triumphs with 4G capability, can I update mine to be 4G compatible?

For tethering you need to root and run some tethering apps (barnacle?).
Most of custom roms do have it from the box.

There's no such a thing as a 4G Triumph.

I teather with pdanet on a stock phone. You just need the right drivers on the pc

The go60 has wireless tether, the others make you change the mtu settings on your computer even if you root. pdanet works good for a wired tether even stock, but I forget if you have to root.

You need to install PDANet on both the phone and the pc. The drivers are automatically installed with the program on your computer.
