how do I put pics in a new folder.

Hello everyone, My name is Brian. This is my first time on the forum . My phone is a galaxy Slll. I have created folders for my apps on the home screen. EASY!. now I have made a new folder in the home screen. its a black circle with a folder folder icon. My question is how do I move pictures to this folder? It will only let me name it and seems there is nothing else I can do with it besides name it. I would like to put pictures in it . Like moving them from my gallery to this folder, but the only place I can find to move a pic is to the clipboard. any help would be greatly appreciated. It has gotten me a bit frustrated as I cant seem to figure this out.

My understanding is that a folder on the home screen is for apps only. For example, you could put several infrequently used apps (eg photo editing apps) into one folder. Thus those apps wouldn't clutter up your home screens until you needed them. AFAIK, you can't move pictures into them.

I don't use Gallery to move pictures. I either use the "My Files" app (or another File Manager app such as ES File Explorer) or I plug the phone into a PC and use Windows Explorer. BTW, while its plugged into my PC, I also backup the pictures onto the PC (and then onto an external hard drive).

(PS thanks for the reminder, gotta do that with my wife's phone soon.)

cpfan,

I believe that there are some replacement launchers that will allow you to do what you want. Of course that brings more things to deal with. One suggestion that I have is to place a shortcut to the Gallery on the home screen, which will allow you picture access and all the functionality of the Gallery also.

Just a suggestion,
