Root how do i remove apk files for things i dont use?

stocks and other things i dont use id like to remove from the rom im using. im not trying to steal the rom and i wont upload it anywhere. im using gridlocks vanilla droid, how do i delete the apk's and not have a problem with those files not being in the rom?
 
you need to be rooted, then you remove them from the adb shell command line.

Kevlar this disinterested your rant thread. Sorry that a simple question pisses you off. O shit I beter use search or another developer will stop making things for phones
 
im getting $ after i type adb shell not #. its a rooted 2.1 rom from gridlock vanilla eris. what could be the problem? i also want to add teeter to this rom and the phone wont let me.
