How do I retrieve my contacts?

Hi!

I just bought a Galaxy S6 and really like it so far! However, I bought the new phone because my HTC M8 had been stolen.

I believe the M8 was set up to sync contacts to the cloud and to HTC Sync Manager on my computer. I tried syncing contacts from Gmail to the Galaxy S6 (in my phone settings), but my contacts didn't transfer over to the phone.

Prior to the M8 (which I got in January), I used an iPhone 5. I believe that my iPhone contacts were synced and backed up, because I was able to transfer my contacts over to the M8.

How can I retrieve my contacts/any other information to the new phone? I can't seem to figure out how to transfer the info that's in HTC Sync Manager (on my computer) to the new phone.

Thanks for your help!

Not sure why the link keeps posting with all those Astrix. When I try to click on the link I just posted it leads me to a dead page. But when I paste the link in any other app it shows all the relevant information instead of the Astrix. now I have my own support problem to ask. Lol

I'm not even sure if this link is dead to everyone else or just me because of the Asterix that it keeps placing, but if you replace those with the following text it should lead you to the correct link. recovery-android.com

Aargh! Does anyone know why my phone keeps replacing the links I post with a bunch of stars that don't take anyone anywhere?

By the way, sorry for hijacking your thread. I really was just trying to help you. The way I found that link in the first place was googling how do i transfer my contacts from HTC Sync manager to my new S six. I had to look around a little bit by eventually found what I was looking for

For the sake of closure... Posted my problem with the asterisks in another thread. Mod replied with ... You're posting to a site we've found to be dishonest, contain spam, malware or is otherwise toxic.
So sorry for the potentially dangerous site I directed you to.
