There's a small groove at the top of the phone where the battery door meets the frame. You basically have to pry it apart there and it'll eventually pop off.

Yes, what linuxgator said. If your fingernail isn't large enough to pry it off, try using a small flat-head screwdriver. It is a poorly designed battery door IMO.

I almost ripped my fingernails off trying to pry the the battery door off of two phones... Good news is that it's pretty secure when it's on!

I used a small thin flathead screwdriver and wrapped the tip in a thin cloth so it wouldn't scratch.
