How do I transfer text message conversations?

[karljt]

OK I need to know how to copy or move all my text message conversations with one of my contacts from one android phone to another.

I need to transfer the text message conversation from a Samsung Galaxy Mini GT-S5570 (android 2.2 Froyo) to a HTC Hero 100 (possibly android 2.3 not 100% sure)

It is extremely important that I learn howto do this as there are some very important texts which I need to preserve so if anybody can help I would appreciate it.

SMS Backup+ will backup SMS messages to gmail. You could then restore them from there on your new phone. I'm not sure how well MMS transfer, I know that the images are backed up to Gmail, I haven't tried a restore yet (with MMS).
