Help How do I turn off app updates?

I updated both my and my wife's phones to 2.2. Now she is being pestered with her phone asking if she wants to update some app. This hasn't happened to my phone. Is there a way to stop her phone from checking to see if there are updates to installed apps?

BTW - Another reason, besides it being annoying, I want to turn this off is we are on a limited data plan and I don't want her phone wasting MBs searching for updates to installed apps.

Go into the market then hit the settings key > my apps. Select each app and make sure "allow automatic updating" is unchecked for each one.

Also, I remember the Quick Office app used to do it's own update check. It eventually went away on my phone.

The offending updates are bloatware, such as Nascar, Amazon MP3, Youtube, and assorted, sordid Sprint bloatware. I am nagged every singlke day, and this started last month.

None of the offending bloatware apps have "allow automatic updating" checked. So there has to be a better solution. Sprint claims to have none.

I have an HTV Evo 4G.

Thanks in advance, friends!
