Help How Do I Update Android OS?

I just got a new Android today, a SAMSUNG Galaxy Ace, but one of my problems is that I can't seem to update it.

I have searched the Internet and they all say the same thing, but I can't get past the part where they say click the update button after clicking on Phone Info. There is no Update Button on my version of Android.

It is using v2 something.

The updates are typically handled by your carrier. The carrier will offer an update over the air, and you'll get a notification that you can select it to install.

I'm not familiar with the Galaxy Ace but I would suggest you take a look at the sub-forum for the phone.

Have you connected it to your pc and tried updating through Kies?

No, buy was able to connect it to my laptop.

I couldn't get it to install in Linux: Ubuntu, so I had to use my Dad's Window PC.
I was able to get it installed there. The problem is that it just says connection and never connects. I tried reconnecting it and reinstalled it but it dosen't work.
