I have a Galaxy Y ( GT S5360 ) with 3G ctivated SIM card.
I also have a Galaxy Tab 2 ( GT P3100 ) without SIM.
I also have a HP notebook computer.
I want to use the Galaxy Y as a Wi-Fi hotspot to connect the Galaxy Tab 2 or the notebook computer to the internet.
I have defined SSID and password for a WPA network.
While I can connect to the internet quite easily from the Galaxy Tab2,
I am not able to connect to the internet from the notebook.
The notebook is running Windows XP Prof, SP 3.
I am able to connect from this notebook to the internet through other Wi-Fi routers connected to wire line.
Please tell me what setting is required to connect notebook through Galaxy Y.

To activate your device as a hotspot you go into

Settings > Wireless & Networks > Tethering & Portable Hotspot > Check the Portable Wifi Hotspot and then configure it with what you want the settings to be...

Then connect your other devices to it.

Hope this helps! And welcome to the forums :D:D
