How Do I...?

I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions, it's sadly been forever since I have used stock Android.

First thing that has me stumped... How do I change the order of the bottom nav buttons? I always have the back button on the right!!! After poking around, I am nervous that it may not be an available option!

I don't think it is a stock option. This may be something that can only be accomplished by rooting. There might be some apps or custom launchers that can accomplish this. I'll look into it a bit.

So it looks like you can do it with or without root. Obviously easier with root. This was actually a hidden feature in the Android O preview but they removed it for the main release.

You can use this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.paphonb.systemuituner

If you are rooted you can simply grant the app root access and make the changes. If you are not rooted, you have to use the adb tool while connected to a PC and Grant this app a special permission to work.

Instructions are in the app. Also, some more information here:

It's not confirmed on the pixel 2 but I think it should still work. If you need any help setting up adb, give a shout. Simplest way would be to download the drivers and platform tools from:
