Help How do you display photos in Gallery

How do you get photos displayed in the gallery. I have a directory called pictures on my SDcard but I am unable to display them as a slide show in gallery.
How do I get Gallery to recognise the directory.

If you are using Tims firmware have you tried turning media scanning on?

Yes still doesn't work.

With media scanning turned on, the tab scans everything in ../sdcard/sdcard1/whatever but only that folder (and sub-folders)...it doesn't look in ../sdcard/ or ../udisk1/

What format are the pictures? Are you using one of Tims firmwares? I think Tim screwed with the mount points of the sdcard so if you are using a different firmware then the above wont hold true.....

I am using Tims firmware. Tried media scanning and made usre they are at the location sdcard/sdcard1/..... still no joy.
