How do you easily delete text message draft

Apparently once you make it it has to be saved, unless you backspace it to death but a long text could take a while.

not sure but you can tap on the text, then tap on select all and hit the backspace. At least thats the ways it worked on my phone.

Or you can also tap on the backspace for a couple of seconds then it deletes faster.

On my phone, a long press on the body of the text you wrote would highlight all of it, and one tap of the backspace key can delete everything. Also, slightly different to what was mentioned above (but could be different depending on keyboard app used), a long press on the backspace key deletes faster (word by word, then sentence by sentence).
