How do you get Voicemail Notifications

For some reason I don't receive actual voicemail notifications. Rather I get a text message saying that there is a voicemail with a link.

Anyone know how to get voicemail notifications? With an actual voicemail icon?

That can happen if you got an sms app configured to handle everything. Happened to me when I messed with Handcent's option for that instead of just accepting the default. I changed mine back and that problem went away.

Thank you it may be the Handcent app. I haven't found a compelling reason to keep using it

It's pretty good, I far prefer it to stock.
