How do you know if your phone sleeps at night

Just at the title says. How do I know if my S5 is "asleep" during the night. My old S3 had horrible battery life even after a new battery and replacement phone. And I'm wondering if my phones weren't "sleeping" Inside my house I don't have very well service. It's constantly in and out. I leave wifi on every time I'm home as well. I charge my phone over night, usually charging from 10 or 11 til about 5ish.

Just was wondering if there was a way to know if my phone is properly "sleeping" during the night.

Hello and welcome to the forums. . now sleeping at night it will need a cup of coffee in the morning:eek::D.

Just joking now you can turn off the device while it charges . or just turn off all sync . such as gmail account and any mail syncs hotmail

I just turn OFF, Data, sync, WiFi and Bluetooth.

Overnight use is about 4% most of the time.

This is my phone's 3 day sleep plus moderate use. The weekend was quiet for me.

Your phone has been going for 3 days with out a charge? I use mine quite a bit during the day between facebook/emails/messaging. But that's really about it. Took it off the charger at 5 am this morning, and already was down to 10% maybe an hour ago and had to throw it on the charger for a little.

I don't use Facebook and usually read emails on my PC. Do a lot of messaging (Go SMS Pro), even more so than I talk on the phone.

I have all the bloatware disabled, and I have turned off the following on a Verizon phone:
Accessories, Amazon, Amazon App suite, Amazon Kindle, Amazon MP3, Appstore, Audible, BlurbCheckout, Bubbles, FamilyBase Companion, Flipboard, Message+, Messages, MyMagazine, NFL Mobile, Picasa Uploader, S Health, Smart Remote, Travel Wallpaper, Verizon Support & Protection (McAfee), VZ Navigator (pay for fee Navigation.... Google maps is free)

Google branded also turned OFF:

Calendar Sync, Contacts Sync, Play Games, Play Movies & TV, Play Music, Play Newstand, Hangouts, Isis Mobile Wallet

Anything that tries to talk while my phone is asleep is blocked simply because of DATA and WiFi being turned OFF.

Amazon Suites was the single worst battery hog on my phone, it would use 50% of the total battery in a few hours.

Holy F! 3days with 45% danggg

Here's mine today... :(

Now I was on mine quite a bit today between the three I mentioned earlier. And I have all the bloatware turned off as far as I know... Though I do have a question... I use battery doctor and I check to see what apps are running. I can close the ones that pop up, inlcuding Weather CH. ap, along with other various apps, and won't open them or any program related to them. And when I check Battery Doctor an hour or so later an it shows Weather CH app open again...
