Android Question

I have SCH-S738C Samsung Galaxy Centura. Android 4.0.4

I want to gut out as much as possible. It's a cheap phone, but faster than a 90's computer. Yet everyones demand for pretty jeweled eye candy disneyland apps has made the device respond to your needs slower than an 80's computer. The apps these days are so densely overweight so you keep getting curious about that $800 phone and wonder if it is what you need to use Android.

My fustrations are aimed at software these days that hides all the core workings, the machine code is locked behind a wall of ignorance of encryption, no one wants you to see their source code, that would result in them not profiting or something as it seems.

Wouldn't it be better if we all knew how to write code ourselfs? Instead of a button with a picture that you click and you remain oblivious to what is going on in the OS.

I don't want an answer from someone that says go to college for years just to use a modern computer.

What can I do to take a look deep inside Android and see what is going on with it's inner workings. What is a good view of the entire OS that can be seen with human eyes?

So I can search the web for bicycle parts without the UI locking up and fustrating me. So I can use the camera without having to wait 20 seconds for it to become functional. So I can start dialing a number right away instead of having to wait. So someone can use a phone to handle their needs instead of a 500 watt desktop computer that uses so much power it made a demand for more nuclear power plants to be constructed just so a person has enough electricity to use their computer to search the internet for how to stop using an automobile to get around.

Hi

Have a look here

Android Architecture - eLinux.org

Maybe what you need to do is become a user of Ubuntu Touch when it is publically released (probably just for Nexus phones). With superuser access you would be able to do whatever you what with it!
