How do you prevent other apps from playing sound while Play Music is playing?

Hello!

I would like to know if there is a way to stop other apps from playing sound while Play Music is playing. For example, Instagram stories play their sound and stop the music.

Thank you!

Select Silent mode on your phone or tablet. Music players will still play songs when Silent mode is enabled
hmm, where is that silent mode? :) "do not disturb" makes the music player silent too, while setting ring volume to silent doesn't silence other apps

Press your volume button, either one.

When the volume slider toast message pops up touch the tiny little arrow, and the toast will expand to show all device volume options.

Choose 'Notifications' and slide it all the way to the left.

Note: some devices tie the notification and ringer volumes together.

Yeh, could be "no not disturb" mode. Different manufacturers may use various names for it. When I put my Huawei into Silent or Vibrate only mode, I can still set my music playing, and app notifications will not interrupt it. Even with notification sounds enabled, my music will still keep playing.

Of course I don't know what phone or tablet you've got there, and I don't use Google Music or Instagram myself. But Instagram, etc. notifications shouldn't stop the music playing.

I do not use much background apps duration of google play.
You can try to close down each background app first, before shooting it up with play.
