Help How do you properly calibrate a phone battery?

I ordered a Seido Platinum 2x battery yesterday, and I'm expecting it soon. So how do you properly calibrate one of these things? I'd rather not pay for an app, so any advice on how to do it would be welcome. ^_^

I charge my battery to 100 % then I run this app, and then run the battery till the phone dies, then change it back and use it as normal. I do this whenever I flash a new rom, and this works for new batteries as well.

I don't think this does it, because as the second poster said (in this thread) batterystats.bin does nothing. I remember some advice on how to "train" your phone to see the new battery.

As I understand it battery calibration is unnecessary and largely a waste of time:

That's from a Google employee.

Just use your phone like normal.

Stock batteries. I'm getting an extended one, and I believe that there is some calibration to do (not necessarily by wiping batterystats.bin).
