How do you rate your nexus one

I hope you dont mean that surfing for 4 hrs only drains your battery for 6-8%, that seems impossible. If not, where can I check what wifi drains?

If you go into settings -> battery use -> WIFI you can see how much the battery is used by the WIFI. Yes I do mean what I said, if you have strong WIFI signal then it doesn't use up a lot of the battery. Now if the WIFI signal is weak, and keeps going in and out and the phone has to constantly search for a signal, then that is a different matter :P Major battery drain in that case.
 
I would rate it a 5 personally. I struggled with the keyboard and the battery is abysmal. I had a N1 on both tmo and ATT and found the signal strength better on ATT. The phone was simply too buggy ultimately for me to keep. Went back to the iPhone and am anticipating the arrival of the next generation iPhone this summer.

I had read that at&t had the imei's and that your imei automatically updates after a while..

So they could tell the n1 is a smartphone and charge you accordingly however, if I can get the 10$ media net plan... i'm sold XD.

Hmm weird, I always use wifi for my internet needs but I have not once seen it appear in battery use (I check it regularly). But then again I've never surfed or even been online on my nexus for 4 hours straight so the wifi radio use might be so minimal that it doesn't show.
So you could very well be right about the wifi :)

It might be the case...you need at least 1% for it to use up on the battery usage :P Well today WIFI is on for over 4hrs and indicator only showed 2% usage. I can spend hours upon hours surfing online...phones and android news are never ending!!! lol

I absolutely love this phone. I am a big phone geek, I've used practically every phone available right now (except the Incredible), and this is my favorite.

Paid $250 on craigslist.

I don't think any phone should be over 2-300 dollars, so that's not just a No for full price for the nexus, but for ANY phone.
 
Rather than rate the phone I'll just say it's my favorite smartphone I've ever owned. I bought the Tmobile/ATT EDGE version and loved it so much I bought the ATT 3G version when it launched.

Damn! I'd think you're good to get that price for the N1. I wouldn't be so broke if I was able to get the phone for that cheap! lol.
 
I rate it a 9/10 (Very happy with my nexus one)
AT&T (Bell)
Paid for the Unlocked version

No 3g issues

The touch screen has gone crazy on me a couple times, for instance I'll touch the middle of the screen and it will register a touch on the bottom of the screen. This has only happened a couple times and all I did to fix it was lock and unlock the phone.
 
i have AT&T and i LOVE my N1(i've had ALL the different iPhones, was a bit nervous, but seriously, the only thing i'm going to re-sign a contract for is to get the new iphone cheaper and sell it to the sheep.. hehehe)

also, i work for AT&T(customer care.. they are the devil but it pays the bills) now TECHNICALLY you need to have the smartphone data plan. if you have them put data opt out, you won't be able to get MMS, but you won't worry about data. The billing system doesn't officially show the N1 with the IMEI(where like an iPhone identifies the type of device with the IMEI by name, same with other phones) so you shouldn't have to worry about getting any issues.

If you start using a ton of data, they will look into it and you might be forced to go with a higher data plan(if you are on say the 15$ data plan) and its basically a billing system tag that then goes to an escalations team that looks into your usage.

So if you get one(and i'd suggest you do) and you don't want data, just tell them you need to change your IMEI, don't tell them you've purchased a N1 and you should(no promises) be ok.
The customer service rep i talked to when i got my N1 didn't even know what i was talking about, nor did she actually look up to figure out what i was talking about(and the N1 has its own little special article in our information guide thingy) and also tried to convince me i could go with a cheaper data plan. So basically, if you opt out of data you should be fine, if you don't, be aware you COULD get a text message stating you've been bumped up to the smartphone personal data 30$/month(which they can do, its in the TOS) but be aware if you opt out of data you essentially opt out of MMS(because MMS rides on data)
 
I'd give it 10 out of 10, maybe 9.5 at worst. its the best phone I've ever owned and I've had a bunch.

paid full price and use it on ATT with the 15 dollar plan.

How much data is too much? is keeping under 100 mb a month good?

Realistically I would use wifi mostly.. if not exclusively and have the 15$ a month for "just in case".

Unless i get the 30$ data.. in which case I will milk that connection for all it is worth.

I would just tell them its some generic phone my friend gave me when updating imei.
 
Having used the phone for almost 4 months now, I would rate it as a 9

I have rated it lower only due to the occasional touchscreen issue (seems to be far less frequent since I rooted) I have & the slightly weaker signal strength due to the antenna positioning (at times).

Other than that, I love the phone and prefer it to my wife's Desire.

you can use more data than that. I'm on the 15 dollar plan and use about 1 gb a month with my nexus and have no problems. I would just keep it under 5 gb a month and you'll be fine.

I have wifi *everywhere* so I have no problem using it to keep data elsewhere low.

I'll still get my use out of it XD.
 
i honestly don't know how much is too much. that's above my pay grade probably...and i searched quite a while the other day to try to find a good answer in case you asked lol
only reason i said that you might be forced into the $30 is because i don't want you to get any surprises

it's way worth it tho, i'm still running stock and i LOVE this phone. the only thing i don't like is the facebook app, but i don't really troll facebook too often so it's not that big of a deal

I would just like to take this moment to profess my undying hatred of att's logic.

Nothing against you.. but, honestly.. they claim the smartphone data package cost more because "smartphones use more data"..

Well.. they have never shown us any statistics.. how much is used ect :/...

you can't claim 15$ unlimited data on one phone is "different" from 30$ unlimited data on another phone if they are both suppose to be unlimited :/

Oh I understand(and explain the random BS every day)
basically Verizon does it so at&t does it.
But I hate all the cell companies anyway they all overcharge for what we actually get...
