Help How do you remove Note 2 toolbar?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with a KitKat (Android version 4.4) installed.
I want to remove a tab that contains a white vertical taskbar on the right side of the screen (sorry; I the picture was rotated properly prior to uploading)

I can swipe the screen to make the taskbar disappear, but the tab still remains. I want to get rid of it completely and permanently.

Can you tell me how to do this?

It's the multiwindow tab.

Just pull down the notification bar with two fingers then turn off multiwindow.
