How does a text conversation look between two people? Is it anything like the iPhone where you can go back and read a message from days prior? or does it just keep recent messages?

Keeps them all until you erase them. Organises by conversation - much like the iPhone. You'll like it.

Awesome...when you are in a convo does it have your message on the right and the received message on the left? Or is everything just on the left?

all mine in the stock messaging app are on the left. however i use handcent so rec'd is on the left and sent on the right more like the iphone

Mine are in order of of the convo. My picture is next to my messages, and vice versa. None of the left and right stuff.

HTC Sense text messaging is pretty much butt ugly out of the box. It's a shame you have to use a 3rd party SMS application to make it look decent.

It's weird that most Android base sms are like that. It's almost like they don't care because the 3rd party support is so popular

Its a text, who cares what it looks. Thats just one thing that i dont care how it looks it just needs to operate correctly.

With all the eye candy Sense is known for, you would think they would make a proper SMS client.

I agree. they should have had better UI for it and also some sort of pop up/quick reply scenario

Also agree. I like the fact that the picture is there, but other than that, it's really ugly.

I don't care for the stock messaging app either so I use chompsms.

I got sick of handcent.. almost felt cartoony after a little.

Stock feels simple and classy now.. lol

yeah, honestly stock is simple enough and i feel like it's a better quality over any other app i have used.

The thing that bothers about stock apps is no pop up feature at all and very little if any customization. I mean they don't even let you change font size

I can't stand the process of inserting a picture into the stock sms app. I use GoSMS, happy with it.
