how does now work whilst roaming

Just a quick question.

Given that nexus 7 is wifi only, how does now work when roaming?

I.e. how does it get info for cards on trains/planes without connection to internet.

Does this mean it must be tethered to my mobile/mobile Wi-Fi at all times? Or are we supposed to make use of public Wi-Fi (available sporadically in London)
 
In short, yes. You can do either tethering or hot spots but now is basically a fancy search result so you'll need to be connected somehow.
 
Just to add a thought. I bought a 3G stick (in UK) and then I have a Zoom 3G travel router, which runs on a battery and gives me WiFi just about everywhere - even in small villages. It is all very portable!
 
What carrier do you use for that Nutz? I personally can't recommend the One Plan from Three highly enough. Genuinely unlimited internet with tethering encouraged. Get a spare battery for your phone and you're away.

I have a sensation xe and will just use that as a hotspot.

Traveling abroad slot so will investigate public Wi-Fi at airport, and use hotel or dual SIM when away.

P.s. also going to get btfon plug in for home, and use those networks for free (after 30 GBP for router)
 
I have a HUAWEI Mifi from 3 in the UK. 3GB of data or one month use which ever happens first, for
