How Does Photo Syncing Work with Dropbox, G+, and SugarSync?

Although I'm not sure off the top of my head how dropbox sharing goes, I can tell you how google backups work... They go (as private images) to the photos part of google+. You can download them, but they aren't (technically) in your drive and will not automatically download to your computer.

Thanks, so the Google option shouldn't probably be used as a full-backup service of any photos you take.

Also, do you know if Dropbox changes the file names of the photos?

I just switch to a new phone (Moto G) and on the phone, the filenames are something like IMG20140404 but when they are uploaded they are 2014-05-05-18-01

Thanks.

Google can, if you're willing to trust their servers. If you want a local copy, it probably wouldn't work too well for you since you have to manually download any photos you want.

Dropbox named the files to match the date and time taken. However, I don't know if that was a dropbox thing or my phone named the photos that itself.

I used to use Sugarsync when it was free. It makes a folder in your Photos folder in the PC. By default it's called Mobile Photos, to which it will download the photos. Interacting with the photos on the phone, like deleting them won't affect the copy in the PC. Same as Dropbox, main difference being SS doesn't rename them.
