How fast can you text?

IOWA

Mr. Logic Pants
Well I downloaded an app called extreme typist... well it measures your accurate txting typing speed!

So far I'm tied for first over all, and dominating the rest of the leaderboard. Anyone care to try?

I topped out at 50wpm accurately, and average about 43wpm. That's quite fast!

What do you guys got? (Yeah, its a challenge!)

Oh btw my "initials" for the leaderboard are ioa.

I go for quality, not quantity! :)

No, seriously, you're miles out of my league with that speed. I'm at about one WPM. but with no mistakes. :D

Pssh.. I go around 60 and average 55 wpms.
Take the test then. Btw, no auto correct.

Try and take me off the leaderboard. I'm #1 baby

Hmm...I can't really measure my texting speed, but I use an iPhone. I am going to test it now.

I can text 60 words per minute on average. But usually, around 73 when I'm feeling good, and 57 when I am down.

This is pretty okay, but on my friends LG Xenon I can go up to 81 words per minute. Haha, im a texting freak.

Something tells me your over estimating. Here's an easy way to check. Grab a newspaper, and type off of that. (Make a random starting point every time, or memorization will come into play and skew the results.) Time yourself for exactly 60 seconds. Keep in mind, this test does not allow autocorrect(so turn it off), which may severly inhibit your speed. At the end of the 60 seconds, count how many words were typed. Any words with errors, simply don't count, and get subtracted from your total score. that being said, while "freetyping", I'm actually faster than that.

Pssh I don't need to prove anything to you. I just now did 529wpm easily!

Also... physical keyboards are better than onscreen keyboards in terms of texting because of accuracy.

Tried it a few times now, best is 162 words(32.4 wpm).

69th overall, but 1st out of people with the Desire :D

Update, well someone did beat my 270... with a 278.

But! I just pulled a 282 @ 56.4 wpm.

I type very fast in real life on a real keyboard. On the 3.2 screen of my Aria I'm under 20wpm right now. I love typing tests though so will probably try again to get better. I need to turn the vibrate-for-correct-spelling off though because it keeps making me pause thinking i screwed up. I'm less than a week into touch typing.

On a real keyboard I've hit up to 110wpm. Just checked.

Since we're in competition can you link to the test you used for full keyboard? I'm drinking so I won't do it tonight, but once I'm sober I'll give it my best.

hmm, can i use the voice input function and talk my txt to my phone out? i'm pretty sure that would be quicker than my typing ability on my phone, lulz...

Feel good about yourself: I've been doing it for about four years now, about a year on touch screen, and 20 is about it for me.

I'm a one-finger-typer, though; no thumbs involved. :o
