How frequently do you redo your fingerprint scans?

I've had multiple models of smartphones with fingerprint scanners and although I like being able to unlock my device that way, I've yet to find a device where my fingerprint scans last more than a couple of months, give or take. At that point I've got to delete my scans and make new ones. Maybe the S22U will be improved in that regard but that's a time will tell kind of thing.

How often do you re-scan your finger prints?

does your fingerprints keep changing?......LOL

on my z fold 3, i have had zero issues with my fingerprints. it works great and is super fast. not sure on the s22 ultra, but i would assume that it should work just as well. i have not seen or read anything saying otherwise.

When I got my Pixel 2 I first did the fingerprints in October 2017. The next time I did them was when I replaced it with a Galaxy s21 in December 2021. I've not had any reason to consider redoing them since.

After trying some glass protectors that were a waste of time, and settling on a TPU, I have not had to reset the fingerprints to the S22. I do setup my right thumb twice, at different angles, and then right index and left thumb.
Have never had a problem with the FPS working so no need to do the process again.

Thank you for the replies everyone. I can't explain why my scans eventually stop working consistently across all the devices that had that capability but it's not the 1st odd thing about me and smartphones. I've actually had 2 phone techs over the years tell me that they believed my multitude of issues(many that no one could ever explain) was possibly due to me having an unusually high electromagnetic field. I've never completely taken that seriously but it's one of those things I can't fully discount because I'm not a physicist.

btw, taking scans of the same finger from multiple angles is a great idea I hadn't thought to try but will now! Thanks!!

I am a physicist (professional), which I'm quite sure those phone techs are not. And I can assure you that the idea that some people "have an unusually high electromagnetic field" that can damage electronics belongs in the same category as crystal healing, "subtle energy" and pyramids having magical properties.

Do you live in Hawkins Indiana; the town in Stranger Things with the high magnetic properties due to the "upside down creatures?"

Their are some good guides on the best way to scan your fingerprints. I change phones every year, but I have never had to re-do my scans. Try all the different angles as you scan in, I also combine both thumbs in 1 scan, and do that for '2' fingerprints.

I can verify that! I have been almost hit by lightening TWICE!!! Yeah, it hurts, but my doctor said that there is "something" going on as a result of the strikes. Not direct hits, but within 1' of me. Close enough!

I recently saw someone suggesting alternating thumbs (or what ever corresponding digit you decide to use) when doing your prints. In other words, for each "press", alternate your left/right hand for the print. Many on YouTube said that they have had less errors and everything worked better. My prints are not disappearing, but they do not detect often enough to be annoying.

I always do my right thumb for my cell to get into it, besides no one knows it. :)

Man with a huge bag of tricks... :)
