I visited http://www.quickoffice.com/ from my G1 browser and clicked the AndroidOS > Quickoffice for Android and it showed be a buy button. It took me directly into the marketplace and opened the app. I have my CC info on my google checkout. When clicked buy it was successful and started downloading.
I did a search for Quickoffice in marketplace but it doesnt give me any results.
Quickoffice ATM only allows you to read work/excel docs. No editing. So perhaps its not worth spending $8 on it.
