How I install Android on a NOKIA phone?

I have a NOKIA Lumina 1520 that works as well as Windows and no SIM card will allow. It would be very useful to me if I could replace the now unsupported Windows OS with Android. Where do I start?

it might be possible to root your phone. the only thing development for your is almost non existent now as it is a old device. rooting will break any securities on the phone and allow you take make changes software wise that you want. but finding a custom android rom to work on your device, will be very hard. i could only find a windows 10 rom for your phone.

I think I hear you saying that conversion to Android would require new ROM. If that's the case, changing out a ROM chip would be well beyond my capabilities. Maybe I need to be looking for a cell phone repair shop? ('Here there be dragons' as they said on 14th Century world maps.)

For phones ROM refers to the Android installation software.

Installing a different version of Android yourself requires putting whats called a custom ROM onto your phone/tablet. The custom ROM has to be made specifically for your device, unfortunately you can't simply download any version of Android.

So someone would have to develop a customized version of Android specifically for your Lumina 1520.

well its not changing anything physically as in replacing chips or anything like that. there are some software programs that allow you "hack", jailbreak", or "root" your phone. Its essentially programs that find a security flaw to get into the system software. once in you can then make changes to the software. however, the development community (they are the ones that find these security flaws and develop the software) is pretty much non existent......sorry

I'm using an Android Moto X on this forum. But the NOKIA, currently being used only to keep a micro USB charging cord from disappearing beneath an end table, could be so much more useful as a micro computer if I can convert the OS to Android.
