I am curious good is the 1080x1920 on a 5.7"

it's doesn't make things too small?

on a webpage?

how much better is it over 720x1280?

thank you ..

The screen is pretty amazing, it looks really nice and the pixel density is really good.

You can always zoom in on things if they're too small for you to see :)

outclasses any and all Apple products by miles! trust me if you have an S3, S4 or Note (previous generations) you will never go back after trying a 3. if you pay for it off-contract (i got it free with Verizon EDGE) it is still worth the $800. Samsung's latest offerings bring no killer new feature to the table so the Note 3 has a long product lifecycle.

I agree it is a bit on the large side, especially with people giving you the 'Gordon Gekko Stare' with it to your ear, (which might explain why Samsung promoted the Gear alongside it at launch) but it is nowhere near as large as a flipped-open StarTAC, or worse yet, the DynaTAC 800TX, or the 'Zack Morris Phone'

It's a bit like in 2007 the way people looked at you if you had an iPhone when the norm then were teeny little Fireflies and tiny Samsung flip phones.

but it is nowhere near as large as a flipped-open StarTAC
I just put my flipped-open StarTac (yes, I still have my 7868, and a few still-working batteries, even though the phone can't be used) against my Note 3. The StarTac is only 5/8" longer (and a lot narrower). But you could carry the StarTac (closed) in a front pants pocket and sit down. I won't try that with my N3 without being VERY careful.

Now if you want a large phone, I still have a couple of Motorola bricks.

the DynaTAC 'bricks' don't work because they support only AMPS which got shutdown long ago. StarTACs have been available for CDMA and to a limited extent, GSM so they're used occasionally. a couple here still have one. my grandmom still has her original Cingular Wireless branded Samsung SGH-x427 from 1999 with the stock original battery still holding charge.

StarTACs are non-e911 compliant but you can get one activated with Page Plus Wireless which still uses the same Verizon network as a workaround. That was how i managed to use a Nokia 5185i as late as 2009 at the time when i was anti-smartphone.

It reminds me of the time when I first saw the screen on one of the top of the line Macbook Pro screens. I can't explain feeling without seeming ridiculous but I could feel my eyes dilating physically lol.

Such is the vividness & clarity of the detail on the screen, coming from a Samsung Galaxy S3 screen to a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 screen. I suspect I will get the same feeling when I get a phone with a QHD screen.

The larger screen definitely helps when viewing proper desktop versions of webpages, and in some cases can be the thing that releases you from the frustration that you can get if you're viewing certain forums which have a large display width layout, which on smaller phones will have you scrolling continuously from left to right to read each sentence, as one smaller phone that I had a few years ago was the Nokia Lumia 800 had that problem, & without the vividness & resolution of the screen on the Nokia Lumia 800 when zooming out to view the whole webpage it made the webpage writing impossible to read.

So I would say it's a definite improvement over a 720p screen.

It's interesting because with some of the hype of the iPhone you can get drawn into it & I really expected the screen to be at the same or exceeding the resolution on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I held one for the first time a couple of weeks ago & the resolution was definitely lower, it gave me the same feeling as you get when you pick up a phone from a few years ago, when you notice the lower resolution & aged software etc.

Possibly my number one reason for getting this phone was the screen. I use it a lot for demonstrating/showing photographs (not ones actually taken on the phone - ha!).

Just about the only thing I'd ask for is yet better performance against bright light.

The Camera is just something Samsung has never really focused on before, I mean if they did it might pay off for them, but I think they feel that the camera is something far less important than other key features on their phones. :o

They'd be right. Far more important is the voice phone performance.
