Help How is the battery?

Sounds like most people are having good experiences with the battery. Has anyone used an Atrix? I love the phone but for such a big battery it's pretty poor. Overall how good is the phone? Because if the phone is great and the battery is much better then I would make the switch.

The phone is fast, but the quality just isn't there....

The battery life was good though, I got 28 hours on it before returning my last one.

Noob here, I think I have a battery issue, I got my phone last week and the battery was completely dead out of the box. Wouldn't even power the phone up. I had to charge it for 3 hours before I could get it to come on. I thought the phone was DOA. It takes almost 3 hours for the thing to charge. Is this normal? I also only get about 4 hours of battery life. I am learning about how to manage that so I won't say much about that yet.

Thanks,
Bill

4 hours? What are you doing with the phone? Make sure you're not running 100% brightness.

Also, 3 hours to charge is pretty normal, sadly.

What isn't quality and what caused you to return it?

Nearly every screen has some sort of defect on the Galaxy S2. (At least the AT&T version does). You can read more about it on the XDA forums.

That was a big issue, but the fact that I couldn't receive text messages or browse the web was a bigger issue.

5-40kb Download

100-300kb Upload.

This was "average"

I also confirmed with tech support that the phone does indeed have a weak radio in it. My area is full 4G, and all the towers are in good condition.

I was only getting 1-2 bars of Wifi sitting 2 feet from a D-Link DIR-825 Router as well.

Mostly I am trying to get the phone configured like I want it so the display is taking the majority of the battery at this point, I have the brightness at auto. I did turn off the "any time" sync this morning too. Otherwise two mail accounts, traffic app, about 1hr of basic web traffic per day and I check twitter and facebook probably once a day and may or may not post something. AT this point I have GPS off, bluetooth off and wireless off. It should be able to go a whole work day wouldn't you think?

How much mail do you have coming through? And is the traffic app constantly refreshing?

Widgets tend to use a good amount of the battery as well. The only app I used was the weather app which I refreshed 2-3 times a day manually.

Edit: Also, try setting the brightness manually to somewhere lower, but comfortable. maybe 20-30%?

i believe something is wrong with your battery. I have 3 push email accounts, none of them are extremely busy though. my wifi is always on, i check facebook and several other apps several times a day. play some games sometimes, several texts and i easily get through the day, usually around 40% left after a 14 hour day. i also have a weather widget update every 3 hours, a clock every 3 hours, tweetdeck every 30 minutes and one more every hour. i also never turn gps off, bluetooth is rarely on though.

I think there is something wrong with the battery too. I'm going to pursue getting another battery from ATT, the phone is only a few days old.
Thanks!

for everyone that complains; LOL, I use to carry and extension cable and either 1 or 2 batteries when I was going to be out for a long day with my iphones ;)

with this I'm very happy just to be able to switch out batteries and not look wired up :D
