How is the bluetooth with cars on the RAZR Maxx?

Anyone have any issues with it connecting to your car Bluetooth for phone calls, streaming audio, etc? I had a Skyrocket with AT&T and it didn't work well at all and wouldn't reconnect half the time. So I went back to my iphone 4. So now I am considering leaving AT&T and want to know if it works well before I leave? I have a 2011 VW GTI, but many others had issues on other brand cars with that phone.
 
I dont own the maxx version but it's the same as the regular version so I'll comment. Works well in my Kia. My 2010 Soul only has bluetooth 2.1 so I can't use it to stream music.. but the 2012 Kia's have the newer version bluetooth where they can stream.

It connects every time I start the car up. It was a little tricky at first syncing my contact list... but I figured it out with a little playing around.

The volume is a little low. You can turn it up using the volume buttons but you have to be in a call. Plus it won't save so the next call you have to do the same.
 
My Maxx pairs with an aftermarket Kenwood DDX418 radio perfectly, for calls, my contacts and music all stream and work just fine.
 
Connects with Pioneer Z110BT for phone, contacts, and BT audio. Only complaint I have is that for some reason when I synced my DX the contaacts appeared first name first and the Maxx comes up last name first even though they appear first name first on the phone. I'm going to have to dig out the stereo manual and figure it out I guess.

I bought an aftermarket reciever made by dual(Dual XDMA6415 200-Watt AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA Receiver with Built-In Bluetooth (Black), for my older MBZ, and it connected perfectly. I stream google music, pandora, makes calls, everything I wanted, and the deck only cost me $69(orig $249) on amazon. Some of the features I like, I can answer calls from the reciever, use the keys to forward tracks on both google music and pandora. It also comes with a remote.

One side note. It said on amazon that it would not fit my car, for what ever reason I ordered by mistake. Good thing I was too late to cancel my order. Because I'm a prime member I don't get a lot of flack for returns. When it arrived i found that it indeed would fit, bought the harness(wire adapters) I needed and an antenna adapter. All is good. Great for anyone who has an older car without Bluetooth. and I don't work for dual, as a matter of fact haven't installed a car stereo since high school, figured it would be like putting in a video card..yep, that simple.
 
I got my Maxx today, trying to pair it with my Jawbone but it won't recognize it. Still messing with it...

For those pairing with your stock or aftermarket radio did you have to set the bluetooth on the Maxx to be discoverable so the radio would automatically connect?

I have a Clarion and it tries to auto connect to my Maxx but doesn't until I tell the Maxx to connect. I have my discover ability turned off.
 
I went into my cars bluetooth setup which gave me the code for pairing. Then i searched through my phone for other devices, entered the code and paired that way. So I did not have to set my phone to discoverable.
 
I have a Mercury Milan with Sync....it works perfectly. Set up was fast.

My HTC Thunderbolt barely worked at all with it...many problems.
 
Mine turned out to work perfect in my 2011 vw gti. Now if Pandora would stop playing when it disconnets from bt that would be nice. My iPhone did that.

nothing special on the Razr's end when i was setting everything up

On my car, I have to make the car radio discoverable, then scan for devices on the phone.

To answer the OP, works great on my car for both calls and audio.
 
So I'm having an issue with my RAZR MAXX. Two issues that I know of, maybe more I don't notice. I have a bluetooth radio in my car, I can stream music to it from my phone when it's paired. It went very smoothly with my Droid 1, I was able to use the controls on the radio to change songs, pause, all that stuff. Now when my screen is off I can't do any of that. If I turn it back on I notice it lets me use the controls again. I've also noticed that with my flashlight app (turns on the LED for the camera to use a flashlight) the LED turns off when the screen turns off, again, not an issue with my Droid 1. Are there some settings I'm unaware of for when the screen is off? Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?

I upgraded from the original Droid too. Now that you mention it, the BT streaming from MixZing has gotten choppy. I will take a closer look on the way home tonight.

Have you found any solutions? Last night I did a factory reset because of an issue with social networking, I solved that problem, I will see later on if the car issue has been effected at all.

Hi, I had an original Droid and my contacts synced right away with my 2012 Genesis. Now with the Droid Razr Maxx, it won't sync. What is the "playing around" that you did? It must be something to do with the phone settings.

I have a JVC BT headunit in my car and it connects fine, and works with the JVC remote app.

I do have a problem when running the ICS leak- when using Daily Roads Voyager car DVR, I can't use bluetooth at the same time or I get crazy feedback.

It worked perfectly on my Droid X running Vortex rom....

My JVC has an "auto connect" feature- not sure if yours is the same.

You might try long-pressing on the car radio listed in the BT menu of your phone and looking at those settings.

Lastly, when my headunit requests to look at my phonebook, I had to click "always allow" or something similar when the request popped up on my phone.
