they say 24hrs but the lady at tmobile told me it took her homegirls phone to activate in 1 hr where it took her dads 4 hrs. hopefully my phone comes tomorrow and it will get activated right away. lol good luck!
I bought 2. Both could make calls in about 30 minutes. They could receive cell calls about 2 hours in. It was about 4 hours before calls from landlines would make the G1s ring. I ported numbers for both phones and for a couple of hours I could call out from both the G1s and the iPhones being replaced. ;-)
mine worked right after i popped in my SIM and logged in with my gmail acct. i could immediately make calls, but had to call T-mo and have them switch over my data plan from my BB...which took all of 2 minutes.
