How many are trouble free?

I've had mine for a few months and it has been trouble free. I'm 63 and use my N7 for hours every day for videos, FB, emailing, games, and a lot more. In fact my wife has decided to get rid of her iPad Mini and order a new N7. Can't be beat.

I did have an issue with the screen suddenly being way too dark. However, I contacted Asus who gave me a return number without any hassle and had it back to me in a week. Maybe not a perfect experience but they made it right easily and with little pain.

For the most part, trouble free. Maybe some backlight flickering (its really subtle, like you have to be in the dark at lowest brightness, you won't notice it in most cases).

Have you tried turning off the automatic brightness?

32GB N7, no issues, love it to death. It's very versatile.

Whatever tablet you get, get a good stylus.

I love the Nexus 7 and have had no problems. I have it loaded with lots of stuff! I did buy insurance because I have a tendency to drop things like that!:) I would buy it again in a heartbeat!

Had mine since November used every day not had a single problem. I watch video's, play games, write send and receive emails, use the web a lot. I also use an otg cable with a pen drive and a card reader. Laptop and PC now collect dust. Would always recommend to anyone. I have not rooted not found a reason to.

I've had mine since the second week of August with no issues. When they did the software upgrade, I had random reboots, which turned out to be HD Widgets. I uninstalled that and have never had an unexpected reboot since.

I love this device, and use it daily.

I don't use automatic brightness (automatic won't lower it enough in dark situations). And it only does it if there is wifi activity (reading an ebook for example won't cause it). Like someone pointed out, its a design flaw physically. There is a workaround taping the wifi antenna, but I've heard that can cause weird wifi issues.

So whatever, I've learned to live with it. I don't think about it anymore, and I just don't notice it. Simple enough.

I've had mine for 3 months and not had any issues. I was reluctant to buy a tablet and now I'm so glad that I did.

While my screen did crack 6 months ago, Asus fixed it under warranty and it's been trouble free ever since. I will mimic Rupert and suggest you wait till after GoogleIO. It's highly likely that the next version of the N7 will be introduced there. Even if you want the current model, it's likely the announcement of a newer version may drive the current price down even further. If you must buy now? The current N7 is still arguably the best 7" tablet available and I can still recommend it.

Glad mine doesn't do it... I'd be pissed.

The only thing I've noticed similar I can avoid by disabling my auto brightness, which is why I suggested it.

add me to the no problems list.

I actually purchased a Galaxy Tab 2 7" first and did not like it (surprisingly). Exchanged it for my Nexus 7 32gb and have been trouble free. As said earlier, you won't hear us complain about our devices working like champs. I dont know about others but I try to baby my electronic very gingerly.

Same here - no problems at all here with my 16Gb N7, even after I dropped it on a concrete floor (it was in a neoprene case and it landed on a corner - the back had come away slightly, but I just popped it back together and it was fine).

Had it about 6 months. Wasn't sure about buying a tablet in the first place - couldn't quite work out what I'd need it for, but the price was just too good not to (and it was around the time that you get the Google Play credit). I use it every day (surfing, watching TV/ripped DVDs, playing games), and couldn't imagine not having one!

The only problem that I've had is the screen sometimes popping up but that hasn't happened since last year - functionally, the Nexus 7 has been fine. I'm a big fan of these devices. If you can wait until July, you might want to go with the next generation.

Ordered my 16 GB model as soon as it came out. I rooted it right away and have been running stock. I occasionally lose wifi after the 4.2.2 update but cycling wifi fixes it. No other problems.

I have a nexus 7 and a galaxy tab 2 7in the nexus is by far my favorite i have not had any build problems with either one

We have three Nexus 7s in this household, and they have been rock-solid 100% trouble-free on both 4.2.1 and 4.2.2.

Only thing that's ever been imperfect was screen flickering when reading in dim light with autobrightness on. It seems to have gone away since I went to 4.2.2. Other than that, my Nexus 7 has been one of my greatest purchases ever.

I bought my N7 (WiFi version) at Wal-Mart back in September, and I've had 0 issues with it so far. The best device I've ever owned.

I now know 8 people with Nexus 7.

Mine is the only one with any problem.

I have very slight screen separation, this is my second Nexus 7 with screen separation as well, I returned the first, but decided that its not worth worrying about it isnt getting any worse and doesnt cause a problem of any kind day to day.

Mine does the same due to HD Widgets - but I like them so much I'm willing to suffer occasional reboots.
I, too, love my Nexus. Only thing I miss is an HDMI port, but it has been a great little workhorse at home and on the road.
