How many people thinking getting extra battery?

I have seen some extra battery that has almost double capacity of the battery came with the original package. I don't know how this is necessary, but I don't have my device yet, so I can't really tell if I need one. How many people feel the shortage of the battery and think getting an extra battery?? about 4000mAh ones?

Don't need one. The phone easily lasts a day and I'm still in the early stages where I'm playing with it a couple of hours a day at least.

I can easily pull through the day and put it on charge overnight. I don't think I'll get one. If they solve the radio issue, it might even last a little longer.

I did get a extra battery, but not because the phone is doing a poor job of keeping a charge. I take one with me when I travel and then when you have those major weather delays while traveling and trapped in say Atlanta, Charlotte or Chicago....and you use your phone heavy while waiting on the dely to lift. Then you don't have to compete/fight about finding a plug...I just swap out the battery and keep going.:smokingsomb:

I always buy a extra battery for every phone regardless of battery life, especially if your out for the whole day and your not near a charger. But, one thing to keep in mind is that you purchase a OEM Samsung Battery because that is where the NFC chip is.

I actually ordered the same thing. I received an email from the seller stating they were getting complaints the batteries didn't fit. Since I don't have my SIII yet (Verizon US), I couldn't tell them anything. I just got a new email today stating they are sending me replacement batteries, and I can send the others back after I receive my phone and confirm they don't fit.

I always buy an extra battery for "just in case". I'll take it with me on vacation or when I'm GeoCaching, but never carry it every day.

What? The NFC chip is part of the battery? If you get a third party battery, you lose NFC?

It's the NFC antenna that resides on the battery, so without an official Samsung replacement battery, no NFC.

I can not imagine prying the back off of the S3 a couple times a day. My battery MORE than makes it through the day.

I would not worry about it, get the phone first and you will be surprised unless you watch movies all day

I looked at getting a "higher capacity" battery for my S2 but a few people said online that the higher capacity batteries advertised on ebay are simply ordinary batteries with bogus stickers over them. If it was an official Samsung product I might buy it , though the battery life on the S3 is good enough not to make it important.
